CVRPG Introduction #15: Kill it with Fire

This Comic's Storylines:

Magic is different in just about every game. CVRPG uses the "classical" Greek elements, but other games are more selective.
Final Fantasy, for example, uses Fire, Ice, and Bolt (lightning), as well as a smattering of other spells (that may or may not make it into any paricularly entry into the series).
Castlevania has used any number of magic types, with no two games using the same kind at any one time -- Circle of the Moon has 10 magic types, and then 10 ways to tap into said magic, making for a huge variety of spells and effects.
Dragon Warrior, meanwhile, started with just a couple of damage attack spells, including Hurt and (the creatively named) Hurtmore (the oft rumored Hurtless was removed from the game at the last minute).
So really, it's a grab bag of effects and ideas, and plainly no one is going to stick to any one thing for too long... so don't stress too much about it while reading the comic.

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
