#203: The Geezer and the Bard Part 41

This Comic's Cast:

And this, right here, actually summarizes the plot of the first game:

Four heroes (the Light Warriors), each the owner of a crystal aligned to one of the four classical elements, band together for a quest to save the world. The world's resources, you see, are dying, and the crystals have to be re-activated (since they aren't glowing right now) to renew the resources.

And so, these four heroes go out (while having many side quests just to achieve the task at hand) and best the four Fiends, elemental beings who each guard an orb that can renew the crystals. These four Fiends are evil beings that were feeding off the orbs, and defeating them saves the environment.

Oh, but not so quick, the four Fiends were working for Chaos, a nasty piece of work who wanted to destroy the world. The Fiends wanted to bring Chaos back from the dead, since he was defeated 200 years earlier by four Light Warriors. And lo-and-behold, those four Light Warriors are the same ones we've been playing as, and then end up traveling back in time and defeating Chaos.

And what's their thanks? Time is rewritten (somehow) and the quest they just had never happened (somehow) and no one knows what they just did (for some reason) including the Light Warriors themselves (for seriously) because it never happened at all!

The ending we don't see is where the universe is just unmade due to the staggering paradox the writers came up with. That would be a game I'd play, though.

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
