This is actually a reference to a plotline I never pursued (and probably never will). Thereshiri was originally going to remain one of Dracula's minions, and probably would have raised herself and army of jackal-headed minions to protect Dracula's castle.
I just couldn't find the funny. It was an interesting concept, but no jokes ever occurred to me. So I ditched it.
