I can't remember what I came up with as a conversion rate for gold in the DSWC/CVRPG 'verse in comparison to current money in the real world. I think a copper is supposed to be able to afford a meal in RPGs, and if I recall conversion rates... 10 coppers to a silver; 10 silvers to a gold... 100 coppers to a gold.

So one gold piece could buy 100 meals. Let's assume those would be the equivalent of a fast food meal, and we can just do a nice round $5 per copper. So, 1 gold is about $500 of our dollars. 5000 gold is $2,500,000, if my math is right.

Damn.

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
