I had to add that bit about hitting a switch to gain access to the castle because, if I didn't, it would be one of those plot points I'd simply forgotten about. I hadn't forgotten, and it makes sense that, with Evie dead, the "switch" was thrown, much like it would have been in any of the Castlevania Adventure games.
