#1660: The Top 100

This Comic's Storylines:

This Comic's Cast:

After the last Band comic I received a few comments from people saying they didn't feel like they got closure on the whole Shaft plotline. That was, of course, by design since I wasn't done with that whole story just yet, but I also wasn't ready to do the next part of the arc.

Of course, I wasn't ready here since we're knee deep in the story for CVRPG IV, but I did still want to honor the Comic 83 milestone, like always, so we have a nice placeholder while other storylines go on.

The whole chart is a collection of various references, Castlevania and others.

- "All Out of Blood" instead of "All Out of Love", an awful power ballad from Air Supply
- Vampire Killa (Whips and Chains), the fabled whip of the Belmont clan.
- Stalker is one of the tracks from the original Castlevania soundtrack.
- And on that same entry, Psycho Killer is a track from Castlevania Adventure II, while Crystal Castle is a level from that game.
- Corpseweed and Curse Sword are enemies from the Castlevania series.
- Entryway is another level from many Castlevania games.
- Terrible Lie, meanwhile, is a song by Nine Inch Nails.
- While Akmodan is from the Castlevania series, Akmodan XIII is actually one of the mummies from DSWC.
- The Rangers (Lost in Green) is just riffing on CVRPG IV itself.
- And, finally, Roundabound is actually a reference to Darth Vader and his voice work in, I think, Garmin navigational tools. He can't say "Roundabout" properly.

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
