The Grim Reaper is present at all deaths, collects all souls. It is his "job", his whole reason for existing.
Really, I stole that, more or less, from the "Discworld" series. More often than not I find little details of that series creeping into the things I write, here and elsewhere. It's such a good series and it's hard not to crib little details from it. People have done it for years from the "Middle Earth" series by Tolkien, so I see no harm in doing likewise with Pratchett and his books.
Besides, I like his books a whole lot more.

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
