#5: Into the Woods
Here we get into the titular meeting between the CVRPG crew and the TMNT. Reading over this arc now, it's actually a pretty quick in and go from start to this point (five comics). I could have put in more content, I'm sure (having done this comic for as long as I have, I've gotten good at drawing things out if necessary). The speed probably comes from the crunch of wanting to make sure the comic was done in around 50 strips. I didn't want to end up doing this for three days without sleep.
Interestingly, this is one of the few times Darkmoon gets lost in this forest. As Alec comments in "Castlevania RPG Gaiden", it never seems to take the heroes all that long to get through the forests outside of Dracula's castle... except for here.
And, of course, if prompted, Darkmoon will sell you anything. Really, in my head, that's become one of his defining traits. He's the default, long-time game player. If you play with any gamers long enough, you'll always meet a the grizzled few, those that have seen and done it all in the fantasy settings and know exactly what must be done:
Kill anything that moves. You never know when that monster you saw previously may come back to bite you in the ass the minute you stop paying attention.
Steal anything that isn't nailed down. The most random items can end up being the key to any number of doors, portals, or situations. And, worst comes to worst, everything can fetch some kind of money in town (allowing you to buy other, better items with the proceeds).
Avoid every situation that doesn't directly effect the quest. If you have to stop someone from doing something, the plight of any number of other villagers, no matter how sad, isn't going to get you any closer to your goal (and the end of the story, which is all that really matters).

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
