The initial conceit of DSWC was that it had no fourth wall. Certainly other comics have taken that idea and run with it more than my comic has (1/0 being the pinnacle of that concept), but it is one of the defining ideas behind DSWC. At any moment the characters are allowed to look outside their little world and show that, yes, this is still just a webcomic.

When you do that, then, can you ever really beat the 4th wall-horse to death? Isn't it, already, effectively dead?

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
