I really consider this the start of the 8-Bit adventures, even though, technically in the archives it has two comics later as the start. That one is actually the first comic to feature 8-bit Richter art, but this was the planned lead in... Confusing, I know...

This comic layout was actually really damn versatile. It allowed me to do connecting panels like CVRPG, which is the style I prefer, but the bonus was that the main panel was just the right size to do single panel comics (like the preceding one). That's why, even though I changed the layout a little at comic 155, I didn't change it much. It's too useful in the current form to fuck with.

When evil spreads across the land, and darkness rises and the monsters roam. When the creatures of the night make beautiful music, and the things that go bump in the night go bump with greater enthusiasm. When the world is in peril and is in need of a hero...

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...

They actually do something heroic.
