Crono

Crono is our classic silent protagonist, an RPG trope that has been used (and lampshaded) for as long as I can remember. The hero doesn't talk, but magically everyone around him just knows what's going on (or can understand him even though he has no dialogue).
Super Mario RPG troped it best, with the pantomiming Mario, but Crono is the one I always think of. Even after you can finally switch him out of the lead of your party he's still silent, having the game do prompts for him instead of him ever saying anything. It's great and silly.

These guys are, sadly, the best the world can hope for. These are the adventures of the heroes of CVRPG. They mean well, they try hard, and occasionally they do the impossible...
They actually do something heroic.
